SEFI Writes To PM to Merge SAIL, RINL, NMDC Steel & MECON
The Steel Executives Federation of India (SEFI) has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to merge SAIL, RINL, NMDC Steel's Nagarnar plant, and MECON Ltd into a single, mega PSU steel company. SEFI argues this would consolidate government efforts, protect jobs, and efficiently utilize funds already earmarked for SAIL's expansion. The federation also reiterated its demand for steel to be declared a strategic sector.
