The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined SpiceJet ₹1 lakh for using "dark patterns" on its flight booking platform. The airline automatically enrolled users in its loyalty program and opted them into promotional messages via pre-ticked checkboxes. This practice was deemed a violation of consumer protection laws and guidelines.
