In addition, it engages in the trade, import, and export of software solutions, as well as the purchase, sale, lease, letting, hiring, sub-leasing, and subletting of properties. The company was formerly known as Bits India Ltd. and changed its name to BITS Limited in October 2000. The company was incorporated in 1992 and is based in Mumbai, India. BITS Limited operates as a subsidiary of Vizwise Commerce Pvt. Ltd.

BITS Pilani concluded its 2026 admissions with a record intake of 3,181 students, representing the top 2% of BITSAT applicants.
